Hey all,

Been doing a bunch of searching on the site, went through all the manuals I could find including that general torque spec page for the SOHC models that I’ve seen posted here but I’ve seen no torque values for the flanged bolts of the “upper handle holders” that lock down the handle bars.

Maybe I’m overthinking it but I feel these bolts are kind of important to have tightened correctly.

Anyone know or have any suggestions what the bolts circled in the attached image should be torqued down to?

Thanks in advance for any help/knowledge shared.

Regards,
Mag

I tighten till my weight won't rotate the bars. Usually stand on the pegs and just try to move them around. Once there, I'm not worried they'll move on me while riding.

Checking a metric bolt torque chart for that size fastener, I would go with 18 lb. ft. if you must....
Didn’t even know there was such a thing as generic torque charts…good to know! Clearly my lack of mechanical knowledge is showing. Appreciate the info!
