I;d say to run it through it's paces, get it hot and then look for oil leaks at the gaskets. To me, $1500 for that miles is a very good price. But that depends on the condition and paint as well.
CBREJECT - did you find the source of the short? I'm no expert, but seems like a blown fuse indicates something else is wrong, and not the problem itself. But maybe a 38 year old fuse is the problem. :laugh:
Hi - I just picked up a 1980 Custom - I'm pretty sure the plugs are original as the mileage is only 5k. What brand/spec are you guys liking for this? I looked up the originals (DEA9 or something) and not available anymore. And of course, I'll do an oil change - any tips on oil for this machine...
