Good morning, my 750 motor with a socket on the crank moves about 6 inches oneway then sounds like it hits the block and stops. then I can take it back the other way and about 6 inches it sounds like it hit the block again and stops again. what could cause that?

Hello, I have a 1974 750-4 with the wiring all screwed up. My problem today is I got the motor to fired up but no spark at #1 or #4 cyl. I changed to a different coil pack and the same problem 1 and 4 no spark. HELP
