CB750 SUPPLY JULY GIVEAWAY STARTS NOW - READY...SET...GO... IT'S YOUR TURN- BUT YOU HAVE TO ENTER TO BE A WINNER

Still trying to get my '76' back on the road. I had to get a set of "bar backs" so I can let 4" of fork tube stick through to get the geometry back where it was. I now have to fix the key switch location, & now I need to re-wire the idiot lights on the bar clamp.

Nice engine in the XS, they made some cool choppers back in the day. Boy I'm gettin old.

    1971 Cb750 build

I can't tell from your pics, but check & make sure this bike hasn't thrown a chain in the past & damaged the cases around the countershaft sprocket. It's a common occurrence with these engines. You should have a chain guide around the countershaft sprocket on your model to prevent this, but a...

    1971 Cb750 build

You don't say what you intend. Are you going back to stock? Or some sort of custom? I have some suggestions, but they depend on which way you want to go. There are some major differences between the (late '70', '71' & '72') & ('73' - '76') models

    Wanted - 1979 Honda CB750k Parts needed

You don't have to use the auction format @ all. you can set your price, list it with "buy it now" option, list for 7 or ten days & just wait for it to go. I'm with you, I can't stand the auction stuff as a buyer. You get some joker to bid $1 more than in the last 30 seconds of the auction. Most...

Tuning for no air box and chopped exhaust

That valve looks over heated to me, from running lean. I'ld say burnt over cracked, may have started as a crack. I assume you don't have a bore gauge handy. If you can get one I'ld check bore diameters & out of round (more wear 90 degrees from the wrist pin (front to back for your motor)) & if...

    Wanted - 1979 Honda CB750k Parts needed

Folks, I hate to sound like a broken record, but ya gotta look on eBay for CB750 parts. I find 99% of what I need there & some cool stuff to boot. I have seen stuff on Craigs list as well, but not so much. I found new 12" over stock fork tubes for my '76' from niche cycle ($180.00). My '76' is a...

    Acceleration problems

EPA strikes again. DOHC are all lean burn engines. Too much air with pods & no bigger jets around as I understand it. Drilling them yourself in increments takes a lot of time & patience, & still may not work right. Same issue with exhaust changes, but not as bad.

    Honda chopper frames

Be aware that weld on hard tails are available for these bikes. Frames can be found, but good luck finding oil tanks, metric front ends, battery boxes & such. Weld on lets you keep all the OEM stuff around the engine. Just pull the swing arm, chop off the seat & shock area. Up to 12" over stock...

    Spark plug hole screw up

Your fix is pretty easy, I got a '72' with a spark plug broke off @ the threads. I'm thinking I should pull the engine & take the head off to do this right. the engine is fine otherwise.

Tuning for no air box and chopped exhaust

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the main jet in the carb. You don't say which SOHC carbs your using, but you will have to got to 125 - 130 on the main jets. I run a 1976 with open velocity stacks & a Kerker style 4 into 1 exhaust. I also went to #45 for pilot jets for the low end...

    CB750K SOHC fuel cap seal

I didn't see any posts on this so, I figured I'ld share. I needed to put a new seal on my 1976 fuel cap since repainting the fuel tank. There are 2 types used on these bikes; one with a #3 phillips screw (later models?) & ones that are riveted. After removing all the cracked pieces of the old...
