Well, I read the instructions AGAIN, and there was a mention of the "valves"........which I did not understand since I did not look closely at those little plastic things....they looked like "t's" to me .........oh, well.......I guess I'd better learn to read more carefully in the future!

Using $65 eBay gauges.....no damper on the gauges themselves......BUT they came with these little plastic valves.....NOW I KNOW what they are for! The instructions that came with the gauges never mentioned them! Back to work today. But even as of yesterday that nasty clanging noise at idle...

Got the gauges, working on the snyc. First problem is the needles of the gauges bounce so wildly through they are almost impossible to read. I used my iPhone in slo mo video mode to try and see what was going on. I'm making some progress I think. That nasty rattling at idle seems to be...

Roger that........the temp on the cylinders is still not as close as I would like. I'm assuming that has to do with carb sync.

You guys know how I have been whining and bitching on how bad the bike was running, right. So, as I think I told ya, I ordered new coils and plug wires. I had already put on new plug caps and new plugs (which were duly set to the proper gap) a while ago, so it was not necessary to buy new ones...

I ended up with the Metzler Lasertechs, running on spoked wheels with tubes. I installed them back in September, and have had no problems so far.....NOTE I have not ridden more than 50 miles and no more than 80 MPH, but so far so good!..BTW.......I have no plans top go much faster. I gave up...

Forks are off, and I've begun to get them to look presentable again. Probably my favorite part of a build. I also drained the old oil, flushed with new oil and then filled them with ATF as the Chilton's calls for. I did not pull them apart any further nor did I change the seals. If it ain't...
