    Couple more carb questions - '78 CB750A

In this photo, there's a vacuum line behind the fuel line (well, it's really in front, as it sits on the bike)...what is this for? A solenoid valve that I don't have? Should I just plug it and fuhgeddaboudit? In this second photo, what is this little arm-swingy-dealy (linkage? is that the...

    Greetings from California

Hi All! I bought this '78 CB750A a little over three months ago for only $600. It came with clogged jets, naturally, and an electrical gremlin which I found hiding inside the headlight bucket (missing ground wire). During the warmer weather, I was able to ride it just fine by manipulating the...

Can I clean the carb jets without removing the carbs?

Thanks. I did wind up pulling the carbs off after all. For some silly reason, I thought that the jets and floats were inside the bowl and would come out with the bowl. Once I saw otherwise, I was like lol I better just do it the "right" way.

Please help identify this piece - oil leak.

Thanks! I don't have a tach, but can I assume that there must be some sort of gasket or o-ring that I can replace? Or make? Or silicone?

Please help identify this piece - oil leak.

This little nubbin' on the top of the valve cover (in the center of the photo), the thing that looks like a convex nickel, is leaking oil. I've consulted the service manual, but I can't find any mention of what this thing is. Thanks!

Can I clean the carb jets without removing the carbs?

The bowls are stuck, so I just want to check before I break something...there are 3 screws hold each bowl to its carb, and then there's the air(?) screw in the front. The air screw does not need to come out yet, does it? Somebody in the past had used some gasket-goop. Yuck.

Can I clean the carb jets without removing the carbs?

Thank you! I've put this off for too long because I've made a mountain out of a molehill. Tonight, I begin.

Can I clean the carb jets without removing the carbs?

1978 CB750A...can I just remove the float bowls, leaving the rest of the carbs on the bike? I know it sounds cheesy, but time is of the essence.
