Final drive retainer looseness

My whole front sprocket for the drive is loose.
And as far as I can see I can't adjust it in any way.
I just put on the retainer ring and bolt it tightly but it's like the whole retainer is a bit skinny.

How can I adjust this?
Maybe I need a new retainer ring?

I mean, if I put spacers between the retainer ring and the sprocket, I just move the sprocket closer to the engine.

I'm totally lost.

Its supposed to be loose, the sprocket is a floating setup on the sohc motor.
