I have just rebuilt my CB750F DOHC engine,, reseated the Valves and clearance,, honed the barrels New rings Genuine Honda ,, I have not fitted the Carburettors yet But i have done a ( COLD ) compression test, and i am getting 130 PSI on all cylinders ,, Does anyone think these numbers will increase much when bedded in and another test done on a HOT Engine,,Martin.

They will go up some but 130 isn't terrible but not good either.

Normal is 170 psi and 130 is not that great at all. If the work done right the rings may go up 10-15 psi but new rings really seat pretty much in five-ten minutes of running (they better). They seat a little more over time but you need like 150-155 at the very start to be right. I'd look at the valve work first; easily can be trouble there.

Suspect your compression gauge as well, you have no idea how much trouble those things can give. Many are utter crap for quality.
