    Fire extinguisher

On the way to work Thursday evening, I passed a car with an engine fire. Driver was smart enough not to open the hood, but it frustrated me not to have an extinguisher on the bike. Any of you stow an extinguisher somewhere on your bike? Where did you find one small enough? Where do you keep it?

    Magnetic drain plug

I've looked at a few magnetic drain plugs to replace my stock drain plug (1982 Supersport). They all seem to be a good bit longer than stock. Anyone know of any limits to how long the plug can be before it gets hit by something spinning around? I don't have a clear idea of what is happening...

    Does your bike do this?

So over the winter I checked the valve adjustment, followed the procedure for tensioning the cam chains, changed the fork oil, and made a little tab to go on the positive battery terminal to allow easier charging and jump starting. The rubber cover from a chisel point fit over that perfectly to...

Forks have to go to dealer for disassembly?

Way back on 8-16-2014 raene asked the question whether his 82 cb750c forks had to go to the dealer for disassembly. The question was never answered so I'll ask it again. Clymer book says my 82 F forks have to go to the dealer for disassembly -- true? Or is there some other way? I drained the...

Engine cylinder protectors mentioned in Clymer manual

I was thinking about winterizing and read in the Clymer manual about some Engine Cylinder Protectors that screw into the spark plug holes. A Google search didn't turn up anything like that. Clymer book refers to the Brookston Co. in Peterborough NH. Could that be a typo and they meant...

Internal sound, then no power at all

Hey guys, hoping you have an idea what has happened to my 1982 Super Sport. I was warming it up prior to heading in to work, standing there holding the Choke out, when I heard a sound like something spinning internally touched something stationary inside the engine and came to a stop. Not sure...

    How far should it coast?

My 1982 SuperSport seems to slow down really quickly when I pull in the clutch. What would be a reasonable distance for it to coast down from say 50 mph on a level road? Anybody tried this with their bike? Thanks

Can I use this MAC exhaust set on my 1982 SuperSport?

Hello, I bought a 1982 750 Super Sport last week. The exhaust has big holes in it on the underside. As part of the deal, I got a new, still in the plastic bags, MAC 1-1609 exhaust set. When I look at the MAC Performance website, I see that the recommended exhaust set is 1-2609. The 1-1609 is...
