AMC, thanks. I know that hole is minute ... I can't get any standard carb tools/cleaning rods down it .. but I can see the hole in each ... I think you are telling me that irrespective of being able to see through the jet and the diffuser holes the internals may still be blocked ... in looking...
So I disassembled carbs on 82 CB750 that idled only on choke and killed with throttle.
I'm sure I did not do the process justice. They looked pretty clean. Removed all the jets ... they all looked clean. Stuffed the wire brushed through each including the pilot jets, at least the various...
AMC, a final question before I leap in and tear down those carbs. As indicated, bike starts but immediately kills with any throttle. I pulled the carbs. The one thing I notice right off is that pilot jet screws were way off spec. Instead of 1.5 turns out they were each closer to 6 or 7...
AMC, if I could impose … started to pull carbs … Haven't got that all figured out … but I noticed after pulling boot on #4 that butterfly stays shut … they all do, and do not respond to throttle. They partially open with choke … choke linkage looks a bit iffy and opens or closes about 75% … but...
Working on non-running 82 CB750SC/Nighthawk.
Replaced Coils and now firing on 4 instead of 1 cylinder. Still kills with throttle. Guessing Pilots.
In meantime I wanted to check valve lash as I see many suggesting this is critical.
spec is .08mm +.05 so 8 to 13, both intake and exhaust. All...
Just Bought 82 CB750 Nighthawk. Running on one cylinder. I’m novice but testing seems to indicate bad ignition cores. 3.2 on front and 1.0 or zilch on plug. What and where for best replacement?
One Second Q ... Clymer manual suggests NGK DPR8EA-9 But after cleaning paint over from ID plate...
