    thanks fg1972... I just built a new elec box out of 16ga steel, solid mounts to the frame now (the old one was made from duct tin) Also bought a new rotor and stator from Rick's Motorcycle, expensive chit! I'm hoping this new metal box will be a better ground to the frame... time will tell

    I once heard that sometimes on custom built bikes (mines a '79 750) that the rec/reg might not be properly grounded anymore. The post, which I now can't find, stated a way to run a wire from the rec/reg to the frame or battery neg terminal?... any idea on which wire this would be? Would or could...
