So I don't have a spark at the plugs. I've worked my way back from the plugs, leads, and coils all seem to be good. I figured the gap or timing got out of sync. So I gapped the points and went to do the timing. The test light won't come on when doing the 1-4 point. So I go to move the plate back...
I plugged the brown and white meter wire directly into the black power supply. For the running lights I ran a new wire from the black power in the headlight to the rear blinkers. It's not by the book but it's working for now
78 cb750. The speedometer and tachometer lights will not come on. Running lights will come on in park but not run. There is continuity between all the wires. Meters have 12v at connector in headlight bucket but not at ignition switch. The top fuse that controls all of these lights does not have...
Sorry I shouldve closed out this thread. After many attempts I got everything wired right and the noise went away.
However i am having problems with my speedometer lights and running lights. I was going to start a new thread but I'll just ask yall.
Wires all have continuity. Running lights...
I'm pretty sure the slides sat right when I reinstalled the carbs but I'll double check. I'm learning as I go so I could've easily overlooked something. I synced it with a set of vacuum gauges and adjusting the nut on the top of the slides. So I'm not sure if that's mechanically or by vacuum.
It's a k8 so 2 cables. It has new boots on airbox and engine side. Where else could it leak from? My first thought was the throttle but when I have it in the garage it's working fine. It has a nice snap back.
Just got this bike running after 5 years of sitting. Cleaned and synced carbs and put new clutch cable in plus other unrelated things. It idles fine before riding. When I come to a stop itll hang at 3k rpms with the clutch pulled in. If i let the clutch out itll drop back down to 1k. Throttle...
Trying to get a 78k cb750 running again. I had a friend install a new wiring harness (because I have no experience with electrical work). I just installed a new headlight assembly which is metal and not plastic (might make a difference?). I plugged in the headlight and turned the key. It came on...
I just got my hands on a 78k and am trying to rebuild it as cheap as possible. What is an alternative to paying 100+ dollars for a missing left side cover (hides the wiring and battery). I'm going to a rat bike style so it doesn't have to be pretty.
