Mine is a jdm model with the blinks speed indicator, not sure if the engine thats in the bike now is anything different from a US model or not but its stuck solid.

I have an extra engine that my dad has had stored for probably 15 years, it supposedly has an 836 kit in it, I'll find out soon enough.

I don't have a good useable stock air box, the foam filters were given to me when I got the bike. I know id have to rejet, I just figured with a more direct path of air flow the carbs would work better, maybe on a newer cv carbs it would help being that they have more air passages.

Might sound crazy but the bushings might seem tight when the suspension is fully extended, considering the suspension is compressed while riding and has worn most in a certain spot, Not sure if it makes sense but it is possible

Hi all, is there a good place to send my gauges to get rebuilt? They are in working order but the tach face could use a new one, also the bodies have a little surface rust, I've looked for gauge overlays but not much luck for a set of 1970 instruments.

Not a permanent fix, but you can run direct 12v from battery to positive side of the coils, that will tell you if they are good, I mean I would just do it to make sure it runs but fix it properly once you find out it's a good runner.

They aren't very cheap but have you checked texavina? They are around $250 shipped but I have read a bunch of good reviews on them, I myself just ordered a cafe seat from them, all the ones they offered that I looked at are a direct swap. The price is high, but I didn't want to modify the frame...

That sounds about normal, it is a carburetor there is no electronics to adjust air into the engine like an Idle air control valve or iac like on a fuel injected vehicle, the motorcycle will start like that when cold no matter what you do it's the the nature of carbs.

Hi all, I have the speed indicator parts on my 71 minus the speed sensor and the light between the gauges, I have the lens but I think the light itself is missing, are these worth anything?

I am just curious if it's as simple as a gsxr swap, but I think I might ditch the zx7 as I found an almost complete gsxr motorcycle on Craigslist for $250. Need to see if it's still available
