I've seen some mention draining the oil but I'd assume the oil is all in the pan if the bike's been sitting?

Thanks! Yes the oil is JASO MA which is the non friction modified. gonna pull the starter clutch out to rebuild hopefully next weekend.

Doesn't mention zinc on the packaging. Any specific recos for my next oil change?

Hey, Anyone here replace the stock brake rotor on their bike? I found this one, but the photos definitely don't look right: http://www.motosport.com/ebc-stainless-steel-brake-rotor-front - probably not a specific photo. Any recommendations on exact brand are appreciated. THanks!

Looks like it was the (new) rotor after all. The new one i had was testing at 5+ ohms... maybe the resistance was too high. Got a rebuilt one from Rick's and it tested at 3.5 ohms, and now the system is charging. thanks for helping!

Thanks Dan, it's good to know that it still works. I've been having a helluva time with a weak charging system and after replacing every part, I'm starting to eye the new battery amperage. It passes load test, and others have mentioned that it should be fine, just trying to make sure everything...

Wasn't able to tell by the listing but on the battery itself it's rated at 12ah, which I understand is below factory specs for this bike. So I was hoping someone could point me to a model number that is 14ah that fits this bike. Most bike part sites I've been searching oddly don't list the...

Hi guys, What's the best battery a 1979 CB750 K? The one I bought is rated at 12 a/h, but some folks have told me that I should try to get one rated at 14 a/h. Anyone got specific brand and model numbers for a good battery? Thanks!

Replacing all the 10amp fuses and I see they are AGB, but all I can find locally is agc.... Does it matter which i use?

OK more questions... keep reading that a bad rotor will fry a good regulator/rectifier... so my first swap was the r/r. that didn't fix it, but the question is, will just running it for a little bit (10 mins) be enough to "fry" it with a bad rotor? feels like i'm going in circles and i'd just...

OK, so put everything back together... still no joy. So i called the local bike mechainc and he gave me another test. He says that with the ignition on (not running), the rotor should become an electromagnet with a significant pull. There is some magnetism when i check but nothing too strong...

OK, so I got the new stator, replaced the brushes while I was there... the new statro from ricks, it seems a bit thicker - see the image below the stator surface is not flush to the mounting surface - see the space between the screw and the cap. Is this OK?? Thanks!
