    tank de-rust and hand shaping

I've searched but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I have two tanks for my 73 CB750. Both have rust in them. I eventually want to hand shape the knee pockets. Should I de-rust the tanks first or shape them first? I know that by shaping them I'll knock some rust free and...

    It's worth all the attention

There's alot of truth to that. The circle I ride with is about 100 and they're probably 90% HD. I really dig metrics and love working on them. Custom HDs are a dime a dozen but custom metrics always seem to turn heads. (plus they're a ton cheaper to build and keep)

using pods, are they worth it?

Allen, Shimming the throttle needles is really pretty easy. I did that to my 92 Nighthawk and found the procedure on the Nighthawk Forums. Very thorough post.

Needing a new chain and I'm totally lost

Amen to that. Frugal is smart. Cheap is deadly. It's worth the $130 for the O-ring chain. You'll like it alot more than a regular one.

using pods, are they worth it?

You'll probably get mixed reviews on the pods. I personally like them but for a purely aesthetic reason. The shop I'm a part of uses them on every build but I'm not the carb guy so I can't speak for that end. I just can't imagine any other option when it comes to looks. The Airbox certainly...

    Introducing Lucy

My choices for the tank are 1. buy a tank with knee indentions. 2. cut and weld tank. 3. DIY denting. Number 1 is out because I want this to be a build I do, not someone else. Number 2 was what I was going to go with because I figured it would be easier than number 3 but DIY denting seems to be...

    Introducing Lucy

New to the forum. This is Lucy. She's a '73 750 I got from a friend that used to work in the bike shop with me. We're closing down the shop so she was a parting gift. I've loved CB750s since My 92 Nighthawk, Reba. Right now she's pretty rough. Engine needs rebuilt and there's alot of...
