W/ my good eye on it its roughly 4" over @ 36 degrees rake. Here's a pix of the rockers after 3 days in the dreaded vinegar-- BTW it looks like an early Paughco, nice solid steel through & through. Also, the rockers are lined up dead on just a bad pix. pretty good. I've the rest of the parts...

    Oh, Oh so happy!

And here's the CB 500 that died-- No big deal but I'm not the kind of guy to be riding on egg shells, so finally the kicker kept skipping & enough tears started running from the seals; that & the fact that as I was keeping it running (&treating it right as far as it goes) I kept coming...

    Oh, Oh so happy!

It goes to the project pile--the To Do List For This Winter I want to do it up right because its a good strong runner but I need something a little more reliable & running around town in no more than a ten mile radius has been bugging the piss out of me. So, full clean-up: heads, ignition, coil...

    New Guy, Suspension Question

Something ya could do is relocate the motor mounts in the frame to keep all of the juices flowing as, per say, stock dimensions regarding the engines geometrical position in concern to its economical functioning capacity; therefore, eliminating any need to fit suspension to stock existing engine...

    Point Gap

Did ya rebuild the motor first? I wanna run one of Cycle X ignitions but I wanna rebuild the engine before I spend the money, I think. I'm leery of putting a good high performance part on a nearly 40 year old engine & breaking something because...well...its too nice.

i found oil leaking out the side of the head

Okay, I'll probably not be much help here...but-- There are 4 bolts under the cam towers holding the head to the cylinder along with the cylinder studs, I've heard that they need to be done in a particular way & must sit overnight & then be re-tensioned, otherwise the whole thing looks like a...

    pamco ignition questions

The way I understand it is the larger plug gap is a bigger but colder spark. The spark of a closer gap, say stock 28-32, running 28 is a hotter more quick firing spark.

    The Walk of Shame

I awoke the other night with horrible sweats. I figured a beer would help, so I sat around sipping a beer & smoking a 'grette trying to put my dreams into something understandable. I decided to skip all of the above, being that I hadn't really let the motor fall apart yet--all I'd seen was NO...

    The Walk of Shame

So, today I ran myself out of gas, luckily I died out near some good folks willing to help with a gallon from the mower, good uncut gas; they saw me hobbling by & when it went down they hollered off from the roof top, as they were cleaning the gutters, I gladly accepted, they wanted no payment...

    Need a key made

Could try a ...(DELETED PART)...but it has always worked for me then the local auto parts store offers a variety of ignition modules. But you knew that. Kick start, light switch, & good insurance works pretty good too.

New Cycle-X Ignition System installed last night!!

Pretty sure I'm gonna get myself one of those pretty soon, so long as the $ in my pocket don't get needed somewhere else. My CB500 would like it, lots. Been eyeballin them for awhile, they're nice. Good to hear some confirmation.
