    I counted the rollers and got 88 i then counted the outer and inner plates and got 88 so i`m assuming my drive chain is 88 links long. When i look for a new chain for the 750 these parts sites keep showing up with 110 link chains for the 78 cb750. so the question arose do i not know how to count...

    Same here It appears to be valve cover on mine as well it leaks all over the fins and it start pretty high up. So definitely check that.
