    carb sync question

I use a simple "U" tube manometer to synch the carbs on both my bikes. I had 2 5x1mm screws beheaded and drilled 1mm. Use the copper washer and a lock nut to secure, some insulation tape around the adapters to ensure a seal. Cylinder #2 is the benchmark, synch #1 with #2, then synch #3 with #4...

    Screen for intakes

If you are going to go with pods, you will need to re-jet. Or, you can cover the pods with T-shirt material to get the small amount of negative pressure needed to raise the pucks, it will be trail and error until you get it right.

honda cb 750 k2 .......not too well

Incorrect float heights can cause a lean or rich condition. Bad valve stem seals can cause oil to pass. Run your finger around inside the muffler, the residue should be black and dry if it feels oily then you are passing oil into the cylinders.

need help - question about coils

I believe that the coils from a Chevvy Nova are the preferred upgrade, you will need to fabricate mountings for them.

    Sometimes I get lucky

I live about 50K north of Bangkok in a small township, no hills and no twistys. Everyone has a small 100cc scooter and in the evening it is bedlam in town. It is very pleasant to ride around the local canals but after last years flooding the roads are badly potholed.

    Sometimes I get lucky

Long story, 17 years ago I went to Hong Kong for a 3 month job, turned out to be 2 years, met my wife there, she is Thai. Worked in Europe for a few years, went back to the U.K. for a couple of holidays and became disenchanted with the place. Bought a retirement home in Thailand for about 1/10th...

    Sometimes I get lucky

I'm semi-retired in Thailand, I do an occasional job inspecting drilling rigs usually in North Africa. Most of the time I am on location living in a portacabin in the desert miles from the nearest civilization. This time I had to look over a new rig so I was put in a resort hotel by the Red Sea...

Just won a bid for a '75 complete bike

Run some Seafoam through your carbs, it will get rid of the varnish. Check the boots from filter to carbs, carbs to head for leaks, put in a new air filter. Change out the oil and filter, run some clean brake fluid through the systems. Remove the alternator cover and give the gubbins inside a...

    Wow what a nice site

I migrated here from www.cb750c.com, a great site for downloadable manuals and some great advice from the members. I did find the regular posters to be elitist. For amusement I get a little involved with the guy's over on www.intruderalert.com just about anything goes on the main forum. I ride a...

    carburetor problems

Check your float heights, if not set correctly they can give a rich or lean mixture. I don't have the details with me but they should be in the manual.

    Simple (i hope) carb question

A/F screws, screw them in gently until they just bottom out then back out again 2 1/2 turns. The best way to balance is by the "U" tube manometer. You will need 2 x 5mm adapters, about 15ft of clear plastic hose a broom handle and some 2 stroke oil. make a "U" tube by tying the hose to the broom...

    She bangs.. :(

A couple of long shots. These bikes run off the battery, make sure you have good clean connections at the terminals especially both ends of the earthing cable. Make sure all cable connections in the ignition and firing circuits are clean and tight. Run the bike for a few minutes and check each...
