Hi, Newbie here. I have been a honda guy since my first bike when I was 11 years old a 1970 CB100. I have had many over the years and recently my passion has been DOHC 450s, they are such a fun and unique engine. I have several of them. I have recently been VERY intrigued by CB750s. The early SOHC to be specific. I have found a couple local project bikes. A 1975 and a 1977. But I do not think I want one that late. I have a few questions. What years are the "best", for performance?, collectability?, etc. Any years to stray away from? Known issues in given years? I like the earlier features like small turn lamps to match my early 70s 450s. So I am thinking a K1. Any advice appreciated, glad to be here.

People seem to value the earlier models (69-76) more highly than the later models (77-78) which works for me since I value my K8's quite highly:

Plus, I'm having an absolute blast with them! I would steer clear of the "A" (automatic) models since they are sort of freaks of mechanical nature (i.e. some parts can be hard to find). The F models are nice but they have a few differences from the K models that can trip some people up.

Not all K0 are sandcast. The non sand cast KO are the highest horsepower K bike. The 77 and 78 F models are the highest horsepower sohc overall. The early K's are most desirable. For the most part the k bikes in all the years are basically the same except for a couple cosmetic changes and couple upgrades/changes to engine internals.

Great pic! And thanks for the heads up on the Automatic models

Sounds like I can't go wrong with any year. Does anyone know of a reference in changes for the K0,1,2, etc? A simple search did not get me much.
