No rejetting needed, a re-sync is definitely needed though. AMC can chime in about the vacuum carbs not really needing any jetwork, just proper airflow.
Blinkers work, running lights work!
Everyone should make the switch to LED flashers if they don't care about originality down to that caliber of detail. All it takes is an extra ground to the battery.
I wasn't trying to get rear running lights, I was trying to get the fronts to work again because they crapped out on me. Sorry if I didn't convey that properly. These bulbs are much smaller than the originals and not much brighter so the wattage isn't going to be greater if I use both...
Hey everyone,
I decided it was time to get rid of the brick- sized blinkers on my bike, so I ordered a couple off of 4into1. I bought 4 3-wire turn signals. In the rear, i wired the two hot wires together to the single harness hot wire, and ground to ground. Testing the new rears while I...
So after stewing over my options for the winter, I have finally decided on a 4 into 1 exhaust. The pipe is a Vance and Hines model # 14001, and is meant for a 750F. After talking with AMC, I decided it should more-or-less fit the bike and expected it to need a bracket for the slip-on.
As...
I would say, solely based on knowledge of how "generations" of these bikes work, they're 95 percent similar. You should be able to spot any differences by looking at the manual and seeing a different part on your bike compared to the manual.
It's me again everyone!
So now that my bike is running well, I'd like to change the exhaust that's on it currently. It's definitely not stock, as '79 K models came with 4-4 exhausts and this is a 4-2. It has no markings anywhere, and the end caps on the mufflers are solid sheet steel cups...
It's all about perspective. Compared to what it was like when I had a dead cylinder, the response is night-and-day. But compare the working CVs on this bike to a FI bike and, once more, night-and-day difference. Lol
BIKE'S FIXED!
Turns out that, a part which is supposed to restrict fuel flow, not existing in your carb, can cause a rich condition in your engine! Who woulda thunk it. Now the carbs need to get synced again, a fresh set of shoes put on, and maybe install those CBR600 F3 coils I bought on a...
Absolute first test is compression test to make sure you don't have a hole in your piston or a burned valve, the latter being a common problem on these bikes. After that I'm sure more people from the forum will chime in on how to help. It's a DOHC, right?
