I reiterate; the speedo says the bike only had 4,500 miles on it....
So I'm puzzled....
If a repair was done, it was done very early in the life of this engine... so why?
I've never heard of a valve problem on a brand new SOHC engine... and I was pretty up-to-speed on these when they were new...
When I took it apart it still had factory gue holding the head and cylinder... on a bike the speedo says only has 4,500 miles....
Somebody did it.
Some of the shiny is from me cleaning the carbon out of the chambers - but you can see where someone has blended and unmasked the intakes in 2...
Understood - and the reason why I'm asking... to see if anyone has ever done this before.
Case in point: I have a 78 F I am currently working on and the volumes of each chamber are not the same.... 2 are blended, unmasking the valves while 2 are not unmasked..
I've been doing headwork for far...
As the title suggests; I need a list of the combustion chamber volume and valve sizes for every SOHC model....
I restore and rebuild SOHC's and while I can obtain a head from every model to measure them - I am inquiring to see if anyone else has already done this to save time and cash...
Thanks - but I build bikes..... I was looking for parts.
I know someone who is looking for a stock CB750F, he lives South of me - towards Beeville - send me pics and I'll forward them to him.

Is this a Shadow Spirit 750 (SS-750 is a V-twin engine)
or is this a 1978 SOHC CB-750F - sometimes called a Super Sport???
And
Do you still have the bike?
I'm in San Antonio - no shipping, I'd come get it if I buy it...

CBR parts are more expensive than FZR parts..... and part of the reasoning behind my choice.
None the less - someone may have done or worked on this mod but never posted anywhere.... so the question remains - has anyone tried this before?
Besides, the FZR swingarm is a good fit for the 750 for...
I am building a SOHC retromod and looking to put a FZR 600 rear (swingarm, wheel, brakes) on a 78 750F...
If anyone has already done this mod I would greatly appreciate your input - and the measurements you used to weld the mounting points and tabs to the frame.
