I cant tell whats going, doesn't look like the right bolt though. Do you know what size it is? I may just go to the HW store and pick up a few and see what works best. It basically keep the tach cable from backing out.
I see everyone talking about .005 in inches, so thats roughly .127 in metric. Mine measure anywhere from extremely tight .01 to 10. Most are .08 to .10. Where the low an indication something was wrong. I measured it 3 times.
thank you. I feel stupid doing this stuff. I have another questions. Just for clarity, each valve has two shims, there are 8 valves, two shims per valve. Should the gap be the same for both shims in the same valve? I had to order a metric feeler gauge, my dual gauges SUCK.
I know .05 is the...
I am reading the manual on checking valve clearance, and it references Ex 1, Ex 3, etc. Is that left to right? Same for carbs, left to right,

Thanks. It goes in the cover and keeps the tach end from coming out. I guess that's right but I didnt expect to find it there. I have to check valve clearance and I guess I will get a letter look then.
The bolt is lose, its either broken off in there, or something. I cant find it on any parts diagrams. Can anyone help? I don't know what to call it. I need its dimensions so I can see whats going on.
I picked up NGK SD05F and XD05F but the XD05F doesn't fit and is clearly for a different plug. I could swear those are the right part numbers. Does anyone have the correct NGT part numbers?
I put a tad of oil in the plug hole. The compression went up to 120. So it's probably seals. I am you g to double check the high one.
Bottom line, I can't do an engine rebuild and with almost 50k miles, that's what is ultimately required.
So, free bike to someone else hopefully with the skills.
