I really want to lower my front suspension and love the way this looks, but it looks like the tire would hit the lower triple tree without much effort. Do you think this was just for the photo op or is this spaced at the minimum level before this would happen? Is it possible to lower this much...
Thanks for the reply to my question. Yes, I can definitely see what you are talking about concerning the triple trees on the Nighthawk. So, would the '81 and up CB750F forks be compatible by swapping triple trees also (meaning no alteration for neck stem or new forks)? The CB750F in the picture...
I am finishing up a 1982 CB750SC Nighthawk and have been trying to figure out what to do with the front forks for awhile now. I don't like the 37mm air assisted forks on the Nighthawk for a few reasons but mostly I am trying to find an aesthetically pleasing way to lower the front forks to match...
Yeah, it is a question of what style you like. Personally I like the de-raked look on bobbers and choppers. Unfortunately, a lot of what I like in style takes away from performance. As long as it's safe, I always go with looks over performance.
I have a 1982 Cb750sc with a welded on hardtail (CycleX) and am trying to find a good look for the front suspension. I am a pretty clueless when it comes to most technical considerations of majorly altering the front end. I was wondering if anyone could give me the basics of converting a metric...
I am trying to understand the proper way to lower the front forks on a 1982 CB750. From searching the forums, I have a general idea as how to do this but I want to make sure it is going to look the way I want it to. If you compare the photos I have attached, you will see two methods of lowering...
I need some help determining if I can use Coker Fiirestones on my hardtailed bobber (formerly a 1982 CB750 Nighthawk). The Nighthawk has the "star" mags instead of the usual Comstar mags, along with different stock tire sizes. I think using them with tubes will be find but I can't figure out the...
Does anyone know where to find new fork seal retaining rings for DOHC. I have a 1982 cb750 Nighthawk. I am not sure if rings for similar models will work but it doesn't matter so far because I can't find sets for any DOHC model. Thanks
Thanks guys. I think the stock ground clearance is 6 inches. I went ahead and ordered the Cycle One hardtail with their recommended ground clearance of 5", so I will just drop 1 in the front also to keep it level. Shouldn't be a problem for exhaust.
Hello All. Longtime stalker, first time poster. I am beginning a bobber project on a 1982 CB750SC and am wondering about lowering and ground clearance. I am ordering a Cycle One weld on hardtail which has a 5" standard ride height (they will do lower ride heights upon request). I understand this...
