I know what you mean about the Honda Techs lol. I’ve had bad interactions as well. I feel like it’s just an industry thing, from what I’ve seen.
Yes, the ones you adjust. I’ll give the scrapyard a try. Thanks for the reply!
Hey AMC, you are very knowledgeable in the CB's. Where does one get sync screws? I need some for my 1982 CB650 but every place says not available. This was the part number I found: 16029-PC6-005. They look the same as my CB750 ones.
Everyone seems to have decent luck with the ebay vacuum gauges. I am looking at ordering them as well. Do they come with the correct vacuum adapters or do those have to be ordered separate? None of them list the size for the vacuum connectors.
Its for a CB750C.
I have a 1980 CB750C. The air filter seems to fall down a few minutes after I put it in. Is there something that is supposed to be holding it up? I feel like something is missing on my airbox that holds the filter up.
So I bypassed the air cutoff valves and checked the valve clearances and they were between 0.003 - 0.005. Im still getting the hanging rpm problem, unless I completely turn the idle knob all the way out. Also bench synced the carbs again. I still get some popping on decel, but its reduced now.
I took apart the side cover and the gears fell out with the cover. The big gear spun freely a few teeth. Is this timing related at all or anything? Or can I just put them back in and close the cover?
I was having a hanging rpm problem before and noticed that the intake boots were cracked. I replaced them. Carburetors have been cleaned. After replacing the intske boots, i assumed that the carbs weren't in sync. I tried synching them and just couldnt get it to work. I believe it was a vacuum...
