1975 CB. Found yellow paint remnants on fasteners under headlight. Thought it would be nice to refresh them, but now can't find the picture. Anyone have a pic of this? Thx.

It's just a paint daub to indicate bolts that have been torqued to spec. Nothing specific about it other than Honda used yellow on these bikes. I mark bolts on other engines and use any light color oil based paint marker.

I'm sure I have a pic of one somewhere as I tend to photograph all disassembly to keep track of things. I'll post if I find one.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I recognize the purpose of the paint markings from my 40 years of auto restoration. Im looking for a photo so I can replicate them on my bike. Thanks

Found one! If you zoom in, you can see the yellow paint on both clamp bolts.

Would that be a similar reason for the red dots on the F series brakes ?

Hmmm....not sure. Usually the marks are daubed onto the fasteners, mostly on the safety-related items, and usually they stick with 1 color for final inspection simplicity.
