My buddy dropped my bike and bent my rear brake tried bending it back but can only use it by placing heel of foot on it. Just feels dangerous. Thanks in advance or even if someone knows of an aftermarket that would fit.

Nvm used my brain lol

Only torch I have is like the butane lighter ones. Would you think a torch that takes the small propane canisters would do it because I’ll go to harbor freight today and pick one up along with a vise or if you’re close to New Jersey and want to make a few bucks or in exchange I could give you a never opened helmet communicator. It’s no Sena but before I got my camera one it worked so well for me I bought another for my passenger helmet but haven’t been on top of my priorities so it’s still sealed sitting in my room on a shelf. My uncle thought it was aluminum and didn’t want to mess with it too much but extremely hard headed even after I did magnet proof test lol

also what about that foot peg because I believe it is part of the frame so im assuming I’d have to cut it off and weld it back on straight?

You'll need oxy acetylene to get the metal hot enough. Just checked Harbor freight and they have an icy/acetylene torch for $170.00. You'll have to check locally about getting the gas bottles.

I can't really see what's wrong with the foot peg but if something's bent the torch will be useful. Fix the pedal first, then see what's wrong with the peg. It looks like it's just folded back which is what's supposed to happen in a crash. My guess would be that if anything's damaged it will be the perch that the peg is bolted to, and that it's probably just bent.

Take the pedal off when you heat it. If you have heat the perch, be careful and position pieces of steel sheet metal around the area to protect the engine. The perch can probably be carefully bent back into shape and won't need welding unless it's cracked or broken.

I do take work like that but I'm too far from NJ for it to be practical. I way overspent on my torch but I've never regretted buying it. I do a lot of brazing, too

that lever has to come off and oxy-propane / acet used to straiten it, cherry red and carefully bent back to how it should be then left to cool. a local garage might help , don't bend it cold.

Thanks for all the help must appreciate. I’ll post the foot peg pics now. Also what brand brakes does everyone prefer?

If you're not going to repair what you have you should find the part numbers of the pieces you need and do Google searches for those numbers. You'll know right away if there are Asian knockoffs for the parts you need. Personally I'd prefer a good, stock, used part, but based on what you need the knockoffs would probably be okay.

I have an oxy-acetylene torch that I use for stuff like that. I know that there's mapp gas torches and oxy-propane torches, but I've never used those. The metal will need to be red hot to bend predictably and easily.
