Will a fuel pump help with my fuel flow issues?

Ya probably so.
Think about it.
1979. This is 2024.
When that happened that bike was 40 years old.

And yes, that tube was beat.
Very soft, if I remember correctly it did not have any reinforcement threads or wire in it.

Thinking about it, I would not be surprised if the screen on the petcock was kind of clogged.
One day I’ll pull it and see.

No idea.
The genesis of my 79 was it was first
purchased and raced. There are still things, things that were done to make it breathe better, airbox wise, shift better and last longer on the bike. Nothing major, just a few things. The bars, the 4/1 pipe, an oil cooler, some jetting. Today it wouldn’t be unusual to see SS braided brake lines, bigger brakes, suspension upgrades. But that stuff is all OEM on my 79.

The bike then was bought by a guy that tore it down and was gonna cafe it.
But he lost interest and it went to a kind of wholesale guy. He put the major pieces back together, I saw it sitting in his warehouse, bought it and finished it out.

Hell, it might still have the OEM throttle cable on it.
