Which 70s CB750 makes the preferred Cafe Racer? ...and why?

Hello folks,

I am new to the CB750s and have spent a lot of time looking at many different Café Racer builds. I have a few questions and was hoping some of you might have some advice to share.

*Performance wise, which 70's CB750 is preferred for a Café Racer build and why? HP, handling, and breaking? K vs F?

*What are the major cosmetic differences in the bikes? I have seen different tanks and love the ones that have some indentations for the knees but those are aftermarket?

*Anything else to consider? I am a dry sponge so please feel free to share. Thanks...

I am only learning myself and am not super mechanically inclined when it comes to engines anyways.

I bought an 81 CB750F Super Sport. Its sick, I love it...

But I also love the cafe racer build. Particularly the 4 individual air pods into the carb instead of the ugly air box. After a bit of reasearch, I think I have a CV type carb, instead of a PD type carb. And apparently, its nearly impossible to modify the CV type card to accept the 4 individual pods and still run smoothly.. At least without buying totally new carbs from a place like CycleXchange.net. Which gets a little expensive..

So I guess from my very limited experience (just bought the bike the last weekend of May this year) you may want to look into something that has a PD type carb, if you'd like the look of the 4 air pods (which I freaking love) and intend to do that at some point. So maybe not an F model? Or at least not a 1981 F model?
