What are the '78 K throttle return spring options (Stock is too stiff)

Does anyone have any suggestions to replace the stock throttle return spring for something less stiff? My hand/wrist gets fatigued from holding the throttle open fighting the return spring. I've ridden a number of bikes over the years and this bike has the stiffest return spring of any that I've had.

I have the carbs out of the bike to rebuild them and I'd like to figure this out in the next couple of weeks before I get to the point of reassembling the carbs.

Apart from cutting the spring and rebending the end to lock in , have you seen those grips that let you rest your hand on a paddle/lever ?

Larger diameter grips will give you a little better leverage. I like the Kuryakyn grips, although they are a little pricey, they do a fantastic job of quelling vibration too:

Although, back in the day we used to call them "tittie grips" instead of coke bottle grips. I guess the world has become too PC for that anymore.
