Have you ever seen or heard of a soc750 motor not being stamped on the case, and is there any way to find out what year or model it is ,

Hi Greazzer- I recall there was a issue if the drive chain broke it would bust the crankcase. In the early 70's Honda was replacing the cases and not stamping the original engine number to the new cases. This could be what happened with your bike?

replacement cases didnt come with serial number and were supposed to be restamped from the dealer when they were replaced but some didnt. You could also just buy case sets from honda which didnt come with a serial number. you could get an idea of close to a year by looking at some other things on the engine. Would have to do some looking and posting some pictures of some certain things to try to help determine an approximate year. Please start a post in the sohc section of the forum. This one is for the giveaway!

Sorry I realized it after I had sent it,

Special thank you to the person (I believe it was Travis)that posted the shop manual for a 1972 Honda CB750! I own a duplicate. However, the pictures are very poor quality. The download on this site is just like reading a new manual.
Thank You,
Larry
