Hey everyone! I have a 1982 CB750C DOHC that has never had the timing chain done and I think it would be best to do it as the chain would be over 40 years old now. I found a video of a guy from UK who made a really good video on disassembling and rebuilding his engine both the top and bottom end, but at the same time, if I don't need to remove the head, that would be fantastic. Is anyone able to provide me with instruction (such as an AllData type of instruction depth), tips, or tricks? If I do need to remove the head, is it recommended that I bring it to a machine shop to have the head resurfaced? I'm a european technician for cars, so I am familiar with the inner workings of an engine, but unsure if motorcycle engines, especially older ones, need as much careful attention as a car in the sense of machining the head and so on.

I believe I know the answer to this. Can the cam chain A be bought with an open link instead of a closed link to prevent from having to split the case?
