Hello All,
I'm new to CB750.com but have owned two '71 K1's and on 78 Super Sport. I recently purchased my latest K1 and am working through some issues.
I'm finding that the throttle is not snapping back to idle upon release, or if it does it's quite slow. I have to rely on untwisting the throttle for a more immediate return. I've been trouble shooting the issue and it definitely seems to be the return cable routing. If I disconnect the return cable completely, the throttle snaps back instantly, regardless of the handlebar position. If I connect it but leave it outside the frame to float free, it continues to snap back. You'll see that route in the picture below. If I route it to follow the throttle pull cable then the angle it creates when connecting to the carb is to acute, creating resistance. That's the green line in the picture. If I route it as it was delivered to me (the red line) there is also resistance when turning the bars.
Can anyone tell me what the 'correct' routing is so at least I know where to start fiddling.
Thank you
