Hello, and I hope this question is OK.
After 10 years, I was finally able to talk the builder of a Honda Carbon Fiber Cafe Racer “Frankenbike” (titled as a 1981 Honda CB750C) into selling it to me (made from 4 or 5 different bikes). It spent 10 years on the display podium in his dealership here in Plano, TX. It runs nearly perfect. It is very raw - no turn signals or key or gauges. I want to add a tachometer.
Its engine is a 1981 Honda CB750 bottom and the engine top is a 1983 Honda CB1000 (973cc) - where the tach cable attaches.
I have seen conflicting info on the internet and I am hoping someone here knows the answer for certain - do I need to purchase a 1:4 ratio tach or a 1:5 ratio tach for a 1983 CB1000?
I researched a post on here that said the CB750 is a 1:4 tach.
Thank you for any answers / advice.
