Synthetic oil

Has anyone tried using synthetic oil in their bike? I was recently advised not to as these bikes weren't designed for synthetic oil use with a wet clutch and all. But just wondering if anyone has tried using it and what the results were.

I did. And it was formulated for wet clutch application. No downside that I noticed. Plus the oil pump will not have to work so hard.

Thanks. Do you think it needs to be formulated for wet clutch? or maybe thats just a marketing gimmick?

yes it has to be motorcycle specific or the clutch will slip

What brand did you use?

As long as there isn't any friction modifiers then it is fine. Most motorcycle oils don't have these anyway. I have found semi synthetic allows the engine to rev a little easier
