I have a 73 cb750 I just got a few months ago. I have been riding is some lately and the front forks have clunk in them over sharp type dips. The rear is a little better. I will clean and rebuild what I can find parts for. So question is what type and weight and amount of oil is recommended for the forks? can the valves be replaced or rebuilt? and what are a good set of rear shocks?

Google search the Honda version workshop manual. I downloaded mine free. All in there.

I gave up on my bouncy Honda rear shocks and bought Hagons. Very good. On the front, all I did was flush the forks and replaced the seals. I experimented with fork oil weight and didn't find a huge difference between 10W and 20W. I did find 28psi front tyre, 30 rear sharpened it up nicely.

These guys make the same as the old Koni trirates , but you will pay for it www.ikonsuspension.com . Most of every thing else seems to be chinese . There are others like hagon and a few more but cant place any names at the moment . Common motor collective do some front fork stuff but apart from springs and fluid , I dont think you have much choice
