My 1977 CB750 makes a grinding noise on startup and for a while after. Ive done some research about the springs and rollers. A Honda parts man told me if the springs are in one piece there ok but to get new rollers. My rollers look fine. Who has experience on this and am I chasing the right snag or might it be something else, thanks

I've put new rollers and springs into the starter clutch and the noise is still there. bike starts good and the noise is like the bottom end worn bearings, a loud clunking noise that goes away after 4 or 5 seconds with a few revs. Bike then runs and sounds normal. Then when the engine slows down to low idle and shuts off the noise is back. Anybody have a similar issue?
