Folks, I picked up a 1975 Supersport (30yrs garage kept, Nevada bike). One concept I am toying with, other than keeping stock, is to increase the ride stance, adding a skid plate and go for a bit of the ADV-Touring style that I can cart around and enjoy dirt roads with out too much of a worry. (my current bike is a HD Road Glide so you can see why I'm thinking that  ).

WIth that, I'm looking for your inputs on what brand/model shock for a 1 or 2 inch increase (2.5 to 5cm). Front and rear.

Other than that, the bike will remain stock.

Good idea these bikes do well as mild ADV builds if you keep it modest.
Rear shocks
  • Hagon: best value, can be ordered ~+20–30mm longer
  • IKON: higher quality damping, also available in custom lengths
  • Progressive 412/444: easy bolt-on, mild lift depending on spec
  • Front
No real “lift shocks” up front use:
  • stiffer fork springs + preload spacers
  • optional fork emulators for better control

Reality check
Keep it around 1–1.5” total lift. More starts affecting handling, chain angle, and stability.

Thank you. As I knew where I want to take this, your input helps to zero on the right equipment. Much appreciated.
I will take the advice and limit to the increase you recommend.
