The years have gone by, and sadly I let my CB750F sit to long. Five years ago, I stabilized the gas thinking that it would be able to endure an extended period of non-use. However, I went to prepare it for use and the gas petcock started to leak when I turned the gas to the on position. After speaking with a number of people, I have come to learn the error of my ways and I now understand that stabilizing the gas is to be done a season at a time. I am looking for a facility or technician who will take on the job of restoring my 750; clear to me that the carbs will need work in addition to replacement of the petcock valves, new tires, etc. I am finding that shops are reluctant to take this on; almost trying to dissuade me from spending the money. I am seeking someone who has the passion to bring this 750 back to life, and who isn't saturated with the Spring rush of motorcycle maintenance which represents an "easy dollar" for them. I live in Westchester County in New York; convenience is important to me, but competence and capability are probably the more important criteria that I am seeking for this job. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
