I am thinking about removing my Windjammer because personally (very controversial I know) I think its ugly and detracts from the classic styling of this bike. I love it for the highway and it makes it easier to ride, but especially in the summer where it gets pretty hot here, I could use some airflow. I see that it is relatively easy to remove, but I am curious but what I need to buy and where I can find it so that I can get a functional headlight and turn signals. From what I can see on the bike there is nowwhere to mount a headlight if I were to remove the windjammer. Thank you!

I did the same for my '81 750C with an Aero fairing - thing was terribly unattractive. I sourced all the parts to convert it back to stock from eBay. It took a bit of investigation but it was well worth it.

I ended up getting a cheap LED headlight from the jungle store, and with a little bit of finagling, got everything wired up, quite a few wires that went to the windjammer that I no longer needed. Had an issue with the blinkers not blinking, but figured out that I just needed a different relay and everything works great now! Now bike is in shop for a pesky drive sprocket seal and clutch.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who removed the Windjammer. I removed mine when I got my bike and it’s stayed under my house since. I think the original owner bought it and installed it as an aftermarket part because my bike also came with the original headlight and turn signal lights. Did you do any re-wiring or just leave the unnecessary connections exposed?
