Rear wheel drum lining

So I advance my rear brake adjuster way past the limit and figured it needed new pads. Upon taking the wheel off I measured the drum lining and it’s at around 153mm. Is there any option besides having to buy a new rim or that’s it? Much appreciated for the help also random I’m sure I’ll have to search for but I have a 1980 Suzuki gs450L that rear rim wouldn’t work I’m assuming. My Nighthawk is a ‘97 750.

Drum lining 153mm about 6 inches?? Is this the diameter of the drum??

Confused...

You want to measure the thickness of the brake pad. Seems you are measuring the length.

Or

Are you concerned the drum is worn out??

The drums worn out. I bought new shoes but the drum lining thickness is very thin
