Rear Turnsignal Wiring Question

Working on getting a 1980 CB750 on the road as my first bike. Everything is done and working except for the rear turn signals.

The previous owner had some aftermarket jobby on the bike so the harness has been adapted slightly. I am putting an original rear taillight on. Anytime I feed power to one of the rear turn signal wires(orange/teal) in the headlight bowl it seems to power both. I believe my wiring in the bowl is correct. The read and black wires are for the fronts.

I also have a pic of the adapter that takes the wiring from the original harness to the aftermarket. Orange and teal seem to turn into blue and yellow. Of course if one gets power they both do and I tested from that adapter. Is there a palace between the headlight wiring and that adapter that would bond both circuits together, or is my headlight bowl wiring incorrect?

Take a look at a wiring diagram if u can to see the original wire colors. On the mid 70s CBS the orange is the left side front and back. Light blue is the right side.

From the looks of the diagram at https://allwiringsketch.com/1980-honda-cb750-wiring-diagram there are only two junctions- one in the headlight where the front signals come in, and back at the lights themselves. I don't see where the two would come together except in the switch itself. If you have access to a multimeter, you might check to make sure the blue and yellow wires aren't shorted together in or near that plug.

Correct. They should not come together. Should work independently. Some models used the fronts as running lights. But not connected directly together
