I'm looking at this front end that looks like a 79 CB900F (EDIT: it's a 1979 CB750F, got a better pic of the VIN plate) setup with the dual disk brakes on reverse comstars and black sliders, it's got the ducktail fender. Because of the condition of the comstars on my '78 Hondamatic project I'd like to pick this set up. I've never swapped a front end before, so could you far wiser folks tell me what I'd need to do? I would be looking at swapping the entire front end if I can, not mashing together parts from each unless that makes it easier. It's currently attached to a '79 frame. Would I need to cut the neck tube from that frame, or are they compatible? Should I move on from this thought? And yeah, they're even better off than what I'm working with right now... and the fella said it's mine if I want to come get it.

I would say, if those forks' diameter is the same as your stock setup, they will fit fine. If they have the same resting length, your handling will be the same. But you'll need a bigger master cylinder if you're going from a single disc to dual disc brakes.

That's no problem, the original was already completely ruined so I'll look out for a larger replacement if I pick this front end up. From my research on it so far it seems like the 1979 900's forks are 35mm, same as the '78 750s.
