I think the plug wires on my bike may be original. They are stiff as a board and may be contributing to my lack of spark. I will test them, but if I want to replace them, do I have to get the coils as well? Everything I see for sale has the coils and The plug wires as a set. Thanks.

As far as I know original coils have the plug leads moulded into the coil so they have to be replaced as a unit, there may be aftermarket coils available which have separate coil leads but my bike came with a set of new coils with leads attached so I never had cause to search, I've never liked the sealed coil and leads ever since my Honda C100 way back in the 60's!!

Thanks Loki. The OEM are pricey. I assume if the plug wires are bad then I have to replace the whole shebang?Any recommendations on aftermarket coils and plug wires?
