I am doing a partial rebuild on a 1973 CB750 engine. I was wondering if anyone knows the tolerances for crankshaft to bearings. I just picked up some plastigage and cannot find the tolerances for this engine. Thanks!

.0008 to .0018" .002 is fine .0035 is max clearance. I always shoot for .002"

I use .002 as my max with new bearings, if you get wider the motor gets a little more vibration. Tighter you keep it the smoother it will run but you have to be careful with oil weight and long high rpm runs if you run them on the tight side. .002 is the sweet spot.
