Petrol / Gas tank

Hi Hoping someone can help. Should a 1972 CB750 have a chrome strip along the bottom of the tank?
Also the frame number suggests a 1972 build, but the engine number suggests 1973. As far as I can tell from the current owner ( one owner bike) it has the original engine.

Yep, it did. I'm 99% sure the K2 had the chrome w black stripe trim of the later K series rather than the earlier all chrome trim. Either will fit though.

K1 onwards had the chrome strip with the black stripe if I'm right. The K0 had a 'plain' chrome strip.

Thankyou - I am just working out all the bits to bring it back to original. I was just given some 1970's photos of the actual bike from its early days so now I know the colour as well. Early 70's clothing fashions were interesting too!
