Pattern Exhaust Preservation

I've just taken the plunge and bought a replica exhaust system for my K1-K4 hybrid.
It will probably get a trial fitting sometime during the Christmas holidays, as the bike has 8mm exhaust port studs fitted at present, and obviously I need to remove these and fit the correct K type stubs.
I'm reading posts about owners internally coating these pipes prior to fitting, and also drilling small drain holes to allow any condensed water to drain out after short journeys.
So what's the best preservative that I can apply to my pipes ?
Specialist product ?
Or some proprietary paint commonly available ?
I'm open to all suggestions
 
I've got the early style Yamiya no-nos on my K4. I didn't coat them w anything initially but as the season comes to an end I start adding Marvel Mystery Oil to the fuel. It's supposed to lubricate fuel system internals but what it does well is coat the exhaust interior w/a very fine oil mist. 2 stroke motor mix will achieve the same. Either way, I do it in very small amounts, like a cap full to a fresh full tank, and only the last couple tanks of the season.

Otherwise, don't do any short trips. Long trips get the pipes good and hot which eliminates condensation.
Also make sure the drain holes at the header to muffler welds are clear.

Unfortunately, doing long trips only is something that I can't promise myself at present.
The bike may well have to be pressed into service taking me to work during the summer months, and that six miles trip is just perfect for filling the silencers with condensed water vapour, but never getting hot enough to actually boil it off the internals to a dry state.
Marvel Mystery Oil is something of, well, a mystery to us Brits, because it's never been sold here to the best of my knowledge.
But I can see the advantage of adding a small amount of oil, probably of the two stroke variety to the fuel every now and then.
We don't really have a riding season in this country anymore, maybe forty or fifty years ago, but recently we don't often get freezing temperatures.
No frost means no gritting wagons spreading the dreaded corrosive rock salt on the roads.
People ride for pleasure at the weekends all year round, as long as there isn't a cold snap.

That sounds amazing. Out of three trucks (two antiques), two cars, and two bikes, there's only one vehicle I'll take out once they salt here. My lifted 2009 Volvo XC70 T6 that was made for the snow...and somehow after 17 years remains rust free.

Warm but very wet I'm afraid.
Cloud everywhere, not a star to be seen.
When we get clear skies the temperature usually drops, but frequently remains safely above freezing all through the night.
We just don't get real winters anymore.
When it does freeze hard, it generally only lasts a week or two

You would maybe know it as redex,
Used to be one shot per gallon.
