I have a 1978 750k barn find I am updating. I am going to a 1980 cb750c swing arm because its about 1.5" - 2" longer and looks completely factory. My rear wheel is a simple bolt on but some modification needs to be done to bolt up. The pivot is .5" too long which is and easy fix. The bearings can be pushed in further to accommodate the change in width. The issue is the pivot bolt compatability. It is a 16mm where the '78 is 13.8mm I do not want to alter the frame so this is where I'm at. I am looking for an OEM from a different year or custom pivot collar that will fit the '80 swing arm but have a smaller opening for the '78 pivot bolt. A machine shop might be able to fabricate one but I can't find one in my area.
Any thoughts where to turn?
