Oil seal mess

Hello folks, I noticed oil droplets on the ground under my 1979 CB750L under the left side case cover.
When i pulled the cover oil came pouring out! All over the ignition module. How it could run like that
I'll never know. Looks like the crankcase oil seal is kaput. Can I replace the devil without a case teardown?
All suggestions for fixing this would be appreciated. I can't really ride the bike again until this is corrected!

There should be oil behind the left crankcase cover. Drops on the ground , maybe a lid gasket or a seal on the wire , I had oil leaking there . I made the paronite thicker and it went away.
