After wreck on right side "I fought the wall and the wall won" the clutch will not disengage. Its not the linkage. the clutch lever will not lift. I took the clutch apart and I didn't see any thing obviously wrong, but then I never took it apart when it was working. When the lifter plate is tightened to anything other than finger tight I'm back to the same issue. I have not replaced the clutch springs but their height is within the factory specs. I'm stumped and I don't understand the problem.

Clarify what you mean by 'disengage' some get that backwards.

You are supposed to have slight clearance with the clutch lever all the way out, nothing is supposed to touch the clutch center at that point. There's airspace there.

Did you forcibly whack the clutch cover?
