Howdy! I just recently purchased a 1979 Honda CB750 10th anniversary edition.
It’s my very first motorcycle.

I need to know how to classify and research this thing when looking for parts online. I see there’s the CB750K, CB750F, DOHC, SOHC, etc. is the fitment the same for all of these? What is my bike?

I’m looking for a carburetor rebuild kit online and don’t know what kit to go with. I don’t want to buy and wait for something that doesn’t even fit.

Thank you in advance! I’m really looking forward to reading the forum and learning as I go along from all of you.

I'm on my second '79 LTD since '95. A lot of the parts sites have it listed as the CB750L or LTD. I'm having the same issue trying to source a luggage rack. I believe, in my case, that a rack for a 750K would fit, but I'm unwilling to spend $200+shipping on something I'm not sure of.

Go through some of the old posts here and you will find links to a number of sites for old CB parts. My 2 current favorites are:

As for carb kits, this one is supposed to be the cat's meow. Pricey, yes, but apparently the rubber parts are compatible with the new fuels so that ethanol gas doesn't bother them. Lucky for me the previous owner had the carbs rebuilt with this kit.

Lucky you indeed! It’s ok, I’m looking forward to the learned experience of doing it myself. I’ll definitely check out that site you sent me! I really appreciate it, man.
